Builder’s Retreat strives to create a beautiful, peaceful setting for families to disconnect from schedules and simply see the world through their child’s eyes as they explore nature and animals with new excitement.
To give families facing Autism in Sri Lanka, a safe place to go, where no one will look at them funny if their child doesn’t speak or is melting down several times a day. To give them a beautiful, peaceful setting out in the country with a few horses out in the fields, a playground for the kids, a stocked pond in which to fish, and a cute little two bedroom cabin with a full kitchen, and to keep the price affordable for anyone. In short, to provide these families with a sanctuary, a safe place to go and enjoy a time of refreshment for body, mind and spirit.
Families get picked up with a Hayride from their cabin and get to help feed Chickens, Horses, Ponies and Rabbits. Families can Hand Feed the Nigerian Dwarf goats and hold the babies. They can hold Rabbits and gather Eggs from the Chickens.
Children with Autism and their siblings get a chance to experience MiniEquine Therapy and learn Basic Horsemanship.
