As Sri Lanka and India have been locked down, the NHOPSL ministry President, Dr. Amy Rodrigo, who is currently in Sri Lanka started getting calls from villages saying they do not have food in their grocery stores. Dairy Farmers went from bad to worse. Pastors from India reached out to Dr. Amy asking for her support that their congregations are starving due to lack of daily work in cities like Mumbai and Calcutta.
Dr. Amy got the curfew pass and started traveling to the villages to feed the people with a few helpers, on her way back, she saw people who had fainted along the roadside. She was moved by this human crisis. Dr. Amy and her team started to distribute vegetables and rice to people according to the ministry’s financial capacity but the problem is too big.

Millions of Indians and Sri Lankans have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 lockdown. The restriction of movement, closure of eateries, and affected supply chains have made it even more difficult to find food, especially for people living in more remote areas.
Community kitchens are the much-needed answer to feed the masses of hungry people. Community kitchens allow people to quickly access nutritious food in their local area. We need your help. Your donations will allow these critical community kitchens to operate and offer much needed basic meals to the people of India and Sri Lanka.
As you can imagine, your donation can go a long way and the impact will be long-lasting. We welcome your support!
Please make a difference by helping us to stop hunger in India and Sri Lanka.
If you support this cause, you will hear one day according to Mathew 25:40
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
