The National House of Prayer Sri Lanka aka NHOPSL has been covered in prayer since its very embryonic stage. More than 50 years later, I can say with the greatest confidence that God has responded to those thousands of hours of prayer in amazing ways.
Since the day we were founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2016, NHOPSL has never stopped growing and never stopped seeing people come to faith in Christ Jesus with signs and wonders. Within a couple of years, NHOPSL team has delivered the Good news of Jesus to more than 5000 individuals over 8 nations. Over the last two years, NHOPSL has provided support and resources to Christians in the USA, Zimbabwe, Philippines, India and Sri Lanka to name a few. We are committed to that same priority right here at home. During this pandemic and lockdown due to Covid, our goal is to establish Community Kitchens and Community Farms to feed the families during these emergency situations. We prepared our volunteers to meet the need of the society by providing food and basic needs.
Every single one of us has in one way or another been impacted by the Covid-19. The western countries have been able to sustain the pandemic, however the Southeast Asian countries are affected the most due to their economic status. NHOPSL has been actively trying to assist those that have not been as fortunate.
Millions of Indians and Sri Lankan’s have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 lockdown. The restriction of movement, closure of eateries,
and affected supply chains have made it even more difficult to find food, especially for people living in more remote areas. At the moment, we are able to only distribute vegetables and basic grocery items, however, there is a need to establish community kitchens in various parts of India and
Sri Lanka where we have existing team members and volunteers
to help us operate them.
